Plant Tours
The South Central Wastewater Authority is open for public tours Monday through Friday from 9am to 2pm.
We welcome tour groups of interested community members, school and university groups, and
wastewater professionals.A preview of a typical South Central Wastewater Treatment Plant Tour can be seen on our Virtual Tour page.
Plant tours must be scheduled in advance, by filling out and returning our Plant Tour Request Form.
Note: Proper footwear is required, including no open-toed shoes, sandals, or flip-flops.
Public Meetings
All meetings of the SCWWA Board of Directors are open to the public to attend.
A standing Public Comment period is provided at every meeting.Meetings are held at the Appomattox River Water Authority facility on the third Thursday of every month unless otherwise posted.

Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations worldwide through
gift-filled shoe boxes.
In 2006, 7.6 million hurting children in 100 countries experienced the joy of Christmas by the distribution of these shoe boxes filled with gifts, sponsored by the Samaritans Purse International Relief Organization.
Each year at Christmas time, employees at the South Central Waste Water Authority put these packages together to help with this Children's outreach program.
